A modular table system, which means the question is never "what is the table" but "which modules came with it".
The Maquet Magnus, now sold under the Getinge name, is a modular operating table system rather than a single table. The concept is a column and a set of interchangeable table tops and segments, so one base serves many surgical specialties by changing what sits on top of it.
For a used buyer, modularity changes the entire nature of the transaction. You are not buying a table. You are buying a specific combination of column, tops, segments and accessories — and two Magnus systems can share a name while doing entirely different work.

Known failure points
Incomplete configurations. The dominant risk. Systems get separated over their lives and sold as parts. A column without the tops you need is a column.
Pad condition. Compression, splits and missing pads. Model-specific replacements cost real money.
Powered movement. Run every axis through full travel, under load, in both directions. Drift or hesitation signals wear.
Control pairing. Confirm the hand control and remote actually operate this column rather than being a generic accessory in the same box.
Battery condition. Where the column runs on battery, age determines whether it holds a full case.
Service path. Confirm support and parts availability for the specific generation before purchase.
